holy sheeit.
The Curious Comedy Theater had a busy weekend. We started on Friday morning with a buy-out kids show for first graders from a local elementary school. 5 of us (including Jeffrey on lights/sound) did our Sometimes Toilet Water show for the kids, pulling stuff from the archives and knocking it out of the park. High energy and well behaved kids made the show so much fun. We even had a question and answer period following the show. In our show we take stories written by children and perform them on stage - as close to the original as allowed. My favorite question was something like "Back there (behind the stage) is that where you keep the kids who are write the show?" Yep, in tiny cages. Hilarious.
Saturday saw a show for our neighbors at Loaves & Fishes, who were having an employee appreciation breakfast. You never know what to expect in that type of show. We did 25 minutes of short form and they loved it.
Saturday night we did our 8 o'clock mainstage show to a sold out crowd in our theater - then rushed to the Bagdad Theater to perform in the Bridgetown Comedy Festival. We did a solid 25 minute sketch show for an audience of about 250. It felt really good.
Got to watch Beer, Shark, Mice do a great longform set after us.
Very fun weekend all around - and this wasn't even everything!
